Jazz Concert, Wine Tasting, Quick Draw & Sale

New to the Eagle Plein Air Festival this year is an special private event that combines art, jazz and wine in acres of vineyards in the Eagle foothills. 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards is our host for evening that is sure to offer a one-of-a-kind experience for artists and attendees. Here’s what to expect…

Art in the Vines

CONCERT:

Join us for our outdoor jazz concert by the Van Paepeghem Sextet. This band writes original arrangements of popular jazz standards and has over 150 combined years of educational experience encompassing choral and instrumental music.

Van Paepeghem Jazz Sextet

The Van Paepeghem Quartet includes guitarist Quinn Van Paepeghem (founding member of the Jazz Guys from Bend, Oregon and choral director at Boise State University), bassist Mike Seifrit (a member of Onomatopia and many other Boise valley bands, former touring bassist for artists such as Rick Springfield, Three Dog Night and Tina Turner), drummer Patrick Kurdy (founding member of Onomatopia as well as many other Boise bands and is current president of the Idaho Jazz Society). The band is fronted by the silky vocals of Shirley Van Paepeghem (Also a founding member of the Jazz Guys from Bend, Oregon and director of music for grades K – 12 at North Star Charter School in Eagle, Idaho).

The ranch is 30 minutes from downtown Eagle, or 50 minutes from downtown Boise. Take Hwy 16 north to Chaparral Rd. Turn right and drive 3 miles to Pearl Rd. Stay left and drive 2.5 miles to the Tasting Room. Or, from downtown Eagle, take N. Eagle Rd to Willow Creek Rd to Pearl Rd 11 miles. Turn left and drive .5 miles to the Tasting Room.

EVENT TIMES:

ARTISTS are welcome on the ranch beginning at 9:00am Thursday June 8 to paint the vineyards. Canvas stamping for the Quick Draw starts at 6:00pm. The 2 hour Quick Draw runs 6:30pm – 8:30pm, followed by the awards and wet paint sale.

PATRONS | The gates officially open at 5:30pm, but the Tasting Room is open 12-6pm so you’re welcome to come early. The concert begins at 7:00pm

ARTIST QUICK DRAW

What makes this event so unique is your opportunity to watch artwork being created before your eyes. Dozens of painters will be at different locations around the ranch. Visit with the artists, watch them compete in the 2-hr Quick Draw and purchase your favorite at the Wet Paint sale. Art will be available under our tent.

WHAT TO KNOW

Wear comfortable walking shoes. The concert site is a short 1/4 mile walk from the lower parking lot.

A shuttle will be available for those needing a ride up the driveway.

Food will be available for purchase by Kanak Attack Catering. They offer a wide variety of Hawaiian BBQ and gluten-free items. Bottled water is also available.

Wine tasting comes with your concert ticket. But if the 3 tastings aren’t enough to satisfy your thirst, a good supply of beer and wine will be available for purchase. Please NO outside alcohol. A portion of the wine sales benefit the Idaho Jazz Society scholarship fund.

The property is a working ranch and the private home of our hosts Martha & Gary Cunningham. Please be respectful and stay on the paths.

$25 Ticket can be purchased ON-LINE HERE or at Finer Frames in downtown Eagle. Your ticket price includes concert, 3 wine tastings and a souvenir wine glass. Once purchased, you will be included on our Guest List. Just give your name when you check-in at the event.
